"HaTikvah" – "The Hope" with Israeli Flag and lyrics

The Israeli national anthem - HaTikvah (The Hope) upon the Flag of the State of Israel (photo left). The accompanying words are in Hebrew and transliterated into English, allowing everyone to join into the singing, even if they don't know Hebrew.

Hebrew lyrics of HaTikvah:

Kol od balevav penima
Nefesh yehudi homiya
Ulfatey mizrakh kadima
Ayin leTziyon tzofiya
Od lo avda tikvateynu
Hatikvah bat shnot alpayim
Lihyot am khofshi beartzeynu
Eretz Tziyon vi'Yerushalayim

English translation of Hatikvah (according to Encyclopedia Judaica):

As long as deep in the heart
The soul of a Jew yearns,
And towards the East
An eye looks to Zion
Our hope is not yet lost
The hope of two thousand years.
To be a free people in our land
The land of Zion and Jerusalem.
